Tax Insight is a collaborative effort between YouNeedABudget.com founder Jesse Mecham, and Anderson Young Investment Planning partner Casey Murdock.
Our goal at Tax Insight is to help you minimize the Single Largest Financial Drain You Experience in Your Life (your taxes) by helping you:
- Understand high-level tax strategies so you can recognize opportunities in your own tax situation. (This is done through our free, on-demand, highly-entertaining, video tax course.)
- Become familiar with the many “bread and butter” tax minimization strategies that are likely available to you. (Tax Insight, the book, was authored by Casey Murdock to help you do just that.)
- Estimate your annual tax burden using our drop-dead, easy-to-use Tax Insight web application.
Casey Murdock
Some people love the outdoors. Some people love sports. Casey loves taxes. It’s the kind of thing you have to see for yourself to really understand. When he’s working through your tax situation, he becomes–well–almost superhuman. Transformed before your very eyes and able to dial down into the deepest darkest depths of the Tax Code, Casey knows how to minimize a tax bill.
Casey Murdock is a partner at Anderson Young Investment Planning. He earned his Accounting degree at Brigham Young University. In 2007 he joined Anderson Young as the founder of their tax practice. Casey does love the outdoors, and uses his superhuman tax skills to support his seven children and amazing wife.
Jesse Mecham
Jesse just wants you to be aware of what your money is doing. You don’t let your teenagers run around at all hours of the night without knowing what they’re up to, why should you treat your money any different? Jesse’s big “tax awakening” was when Casey took a look at his 2008 tax situation, amended a business return, and promptly saved him $20,000. (Jesse’s aside: ”Really. That’s not an exaggeration. The stars aligned.”) It was a “paper move” and one that left Jesse stunned.
Recognizing that most loyal taxpayers simply look back and hope for a palatable tax situation, Jesse’s efforts are geared toward helping people look forward, raise their tax awareness (it is the single biggest expense in your life), and minimize the tax liability they have coming.
Jesse founded YouNeedABudget.com in 2004 where he teaches people how to become awesome at managing their money. Jesse lives in Utah with his four children and lovely wife.
